The Knights with Wu Man
East Meets West with This Delightful Combination
One of the most exciting new groups to emerge in recent years, the forty-member chamber orchestra known as The Knights has taken the world of classical music by storm. Yo-Yo Ma called his experience with The Knights “vibrant” and “energetic.”
It’ll be an evening of East meets West when the orchestra is joined by Wu Man, recognized as the world’s premier pipa virtuoso. Wu Man’s adventurous musical spirit has led to her becoming a respected expert on the history and preservation of Chinese musical traditions.
- Wu Man received a Grammy nomination in the category of Best Contemporary World Music Album for her work on the 2005 collaboration, You’ve Stolen My Heart.
- Members of The Knights are graduates of elite music schools who have performed as soloists with the New York Philharmonic, Chicago and San Francisco symphony orchestras.
